Alternative Investment Fund Managers hearings

On 10 November, ECON held a two hour hearing, followed by a workshop on the Alternative Investment Funds Managers Directive (covering hedge funds, private equity and other non-UCITS mutual funds). At the Hearing, representatives of industry (managers and investors), of supervisory authorities and trade unions presented their views on the Commission's proposal and engaged in a debate with the Members of the ECON Committee. In the afternoon, academics discussed with ECON Members the morning Hearing in a Workshop.

Feedback on public consultation on the UCITS depositary function

The European Commission held a public consultation on UCITS depositaries. The consultation, now closed, sought input from investors, the depositary industry, asset managers, other financial institutions and public authorities. The objective is to clarify the regulatory framework applicable to UCITS depositaries, with a view to increasing the level of the protection of UCITS investors.
